Conserving biodiversity from the past, in the present, for the future.

We are an ecological consulting company that strives to bring harmony to all of the places where land, wildlife, society, and  industry intersect. Our services can help you manage our natural resources, using ecologically and culturally appropriate methods and techniques.

Welcome

I founded Shifting Mosaics Consulting because as an ecosystem scientist, I strive to support human activity and industry, while still allowing ecosystems and biodiversity to thrive.

I’m passionate about integrating science with traditional, cultural and local knowledge, to ensure thoughtful, applicable, and effective management of our natural resources.

What Our Clients Say About Us

Dr Sonja Leverkus is a professional through and through. She approaches challenges with an open mind and comes up with innovative solutions, working collaboratively with clients and local First Nations. Her work is of high quality and her attention to detail is valuable for regulatory reporting. I have worked with Dr. Leverkus on a variety of projects, including post-construction pipeline environmental assessments, invasive weed and other vegetation surveys at gas facilities, and even a prescribed fire adjacent to an abandoned wellhead. She keeps safety as an utmost priority while working with her clients to determine the most effective solution.
